President Donald Trump said he would raise tariffs on Canada by another 10% in response to a Canadian anti-tariff ad featuring former President Ronald Reagan.
Trump announced his decision Saturday in a Truth Social article in which he called the ad “fraudulent.” The ad, in which Reagan criticized the tariffs, aired Friday during the Major League Baseball World Series game.
“Due to their gross misrepresentation of facts and hostile action, I am increasing tariffs on Canada 10% above what they currently pay,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford recently shared the ad on his
White House officials did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
